Principal dancers of the Kiev Ballet, Olga Golitsa and Denis Nedak, will give a guest performance in The Nutcracker in the Big Hall of the “Sava” Centre on 21st January.
In this classical spectacle, to the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, choreographed by Konstantin Kostjukov and organized by the “Sava” Centre and the National Theatre, Galitsa will interpret the role of Masha, while Nedak will interpret the title role.
The Ballet and Orchestra of the National Theatre, as well as members of the Children’s Choir “Horislavci” in the roles of Angels, will take part in the ballet performance under the baton of Italian maestro, Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli,
This ballet fairy tale that starts on a Christmas night and expressive music by Tchaikovsky are the reasons why not to miss this ballet spectacle, particularly intended for young audiences.
The ballet is based on E. T. A. Hoffmann’s story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King written in 1816.
Famous French writer and playwright, Alexander Dumas, adapted the Hoffmann’s story about a girl and her Christmas adventure, which charms audiences throughout the world together with its fantastic music.  
Angelina Atlagić designed the set and costumes.
The ballet premiered on the Main Stage of the National Theatre on 18th March 2014.

She graduated from the State Ballet School in Kiev.
Olga became a soloist in the Ballet of the National Opera of Ukraine “T. Shevchenko” in 2006.
She is the recipient of a number of renowned recognitions in international ballet competitions.
Main roles: Odile, Odette (Swan Lake), Clara (The Nutcracker), Julia (Romeo and Julia), Nikiya (La Bayadere), Kitri (Don Quixote), Giselle, Swanhilda (Coppelia), Raymonda and many others.
She has toured Mexico, Greece, Spain, Italy, France and Belgium.








Denis Nedak is a recipient of prestigious national recognition – Merited Artist of Ukraine (2011).
He graduated from the Ballet Academy in Kiev, where he started his professional career.
Nedak became a principal artist of the National Opera in Kiev in 2008.
He interpreted numerous main roles in ballets The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, Giselle, The Pirate, Spartacus, Raymonda, etc.
He is the recipient of numerous recognitions and awards in international competitions.
His signature is a refined classical technique, especially in lyrical-romantic style.
Nedak is a frequent guest at numerous ballet festivals in Russia and Europe.
He has performed in Japan, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, etc.





Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli. Italian Orchestra conductor.
Jacopo Sipari Pescasseroli was born in 1985. Considered one of the most expressive conductors of his generation, he is nowadays the artistic director of Midsummer International Festival of Tagliacozzo (Italy), the principal conductor of the "Fondazione Festival Pucciniano", the most important European Lyric Festival. He has been a guest conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, National Symphony Orchestra of Radio and Tv of Serbia, Orchestra Filarmonica di Benevento, Orchestra Sinfonica Pucciniana, "Pompei Opera Festival" Symphony Orchestra, "Bellini Opera Festival" Symphony Orchestra, "Taormina Opera Festival" Symphony Orchestra, "Festival Euromediterraneo" Symphony Orchestra, the "Rome Opera House White Voices Choir", the "Arcum White Voices Choir", the "Sicilian Lyric Choir", the "Giuseppe Verdi Lyric Choir", the "International Opera Choir"; he already has a prolific musical production and he has received many awards.
In 2014 he was named the youngest member of the Accademia Tiberina (after Respighi, Liszt, Rossini and Bellini) and he received the "Young Italy" award by the CNEL for his musical merits, and the "Chimera d'Oro" International Art Prize for music innovation.
In 2013 he received the award "Abruzzese 2013 for Excellence in Music" by the highest offices of Abruzzo, the "Excellence of Italian Music" award in Rome and the "Zire d'Oro" Abruzzo prize for culture as person of the year.
In 2012 he was appointed "Honorary Citizen of Abruzzo" for his merits in music and culture.
He studied piano, composition and singing, he graduated at "A. Casella" Conservatory of L'Aquila, then he continued his training in Italy and abroad with M. Mauro Cardi, Alessandro Sbordoni, Azio Corghi, Sandro Rancitelli, Cesare Scarton, Jose Maria Sciutto, Mirta Herrera, Maria Mosca, Aurelio Iacolenna and Maria Chiara Pavone.
At the age of 22 he also graduated in Law, and today he is a lawyer trainee in Rome and Assistant Professor of Criminal Law at "Roma Tre" University; he has also a PHD in Criminal Law, Civil Procedure and Canonic Law with a specialization in Latin language, and he is currently the youngest lawyer of the Roman Rota Apostolic Tribunal.
His performances are always sponsored by the most important institutions of Italy and Europe. He conducted his first concert at the age of 16; he conducted over 400 concerts in all the greatest Italian cities and abroad, enjoying a very great critical acclaim.
He conducted for the highest offices of the state, for some Royal Families from all over Europe and for some of the most important foreign embassies in Italy. He has been invited - as a speaker - to some lectures about music at the New York University and the Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio by Director Manuela Metri and Mrs. Anna Strasberg. He is generally called to conduct the most important institutional concerts in Rome.
In 2010 he cooperated with the soprano Cecilia Bartoli for the film "Opfer und Verfuehrer - Das Schicksal der kastraten" for ZDF.

On December 2016 he conducted a lot of concerts in the best theatres and concert hall of China.
On November and December, 2016 he conducted "Verdi Requiem" and Beethoven IX Simphony for the closing concert of "SACRUM", the international event organized for the Jubilee in Vatican for Pope Francis and the Celebrating Concert for Renato Balestra in Kolarac Hall of Belgrade
with RTS Orchestra.
On September 10th, 2016 he conducted ROMEO AND JULIET, THE BALLET of Prokoviev at the Roman Theatre of Benevento with Benevento Philarmonic Orchestra.
On July and August 2016 he conducted "Turandot" (Puccini) at The Great Theatre Puccini of Torre del Lago - Viareggio with Rebeka Lokar and Rudy Park and "La Boheme" (Puccini) with Fiorenza Cedolins and Leonardo Caimi.
On February 2016 he conducted "La Boheme" of G. Puccini at the National Theatre of Managua (NICARAGUA) with Foundation Festival Pucciniano and the "Petite Messe Solemnelle" (G. Rossini) for the "Settimana Musicale Agatina" in Catania (Sicily).
On November 28th, 2015 he conducted the concert "ANASTACIA & JACOPO", with the international star Anastacia, for "The Children for Peace" in Rome.
From July to August 2015, he conducted the Opera "Nabucco" (G. Verdi), in the Ancient Theatre of Pompei, with Dimitra Theodossiou, "Barbiere di Siviglia" (G. Rossini), in the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, for the "TAORMINA FESTIVAL", "Norma" (V. Bellini), in the Greek Theatre of Syracuse, for the "EUROMEDITERRANEAN FESTIVAL".
In November 2013 he was given his first magazine cover.
